Code of Conduct for Parents of Players
At Wychwood Tennis Club, parents who are concerned about their child's development must take into consideration their child's well-being and be aware of the educational values conveyed through the practice of tennis. To achieve this, they must collaborate in using the sport as an educational and expressive outlet, allowing their child to gain from its beneficial effects. To excel in their duties, parents must be aware of and adopt the following behaviors:
The following rules are in line with those of Tennis Québec.
Demonstrate respect at all times for coaches, assistants, officials, managers, and opponents;
Have and use appropriate conduct and language;
Refrain from verbal abuse towards players, coaches, assistants, officials, and managers;
Never forget that their child is playing tennis for their own enjoyment, not for their parents;
Recognize their child's good performance as well as that of other players;
Help their child improve and develop sportsmanship or camaraderie skills;
Teach their child that an honest effort is worth as much as winning;
Never ridicule a child for making a mistake or losing a game;
During and after practices and games, refrain from making derogatory comments towards coaches and players;
During practices and games, refrain from going on the court to interfere with the players and coaches;
Encourage their child to respect the rules and resolve conflicts without aggression or violence;
In case of questions or dissatisfactions, please:
Wait until the end of the practice or game to talk politely with the coaches.
Send an email to info@tenniswychwood.ca and a board member will respond.
A parent who does not respect the above rules may face sanctions that will be determined in due time.
